Logo
The logo is an original design produced to encapsulate the goals and objectives of the MDCH/HAPIS funded initiative and represent the project name in a visual manner that is professional and empowering for those that participate in it. The logo is comprised of a Torch, its flame (in the three primary colors) and rings that symbolize the targeted regions for which the Project was designed all set upon a background that is the shape of the state of Michigan.
The Torch: The torch is used as a major component of the project logo as this image continues to be a universal symbol for both empowerment and enlightenment. |
The Flame: Along the same lines, the flame emanating from the torch represents the knowledge, skills and practice that the project strives to bring to the Michigan outreach worker community in terms of its prevention education and training. |
The Colors:
The three primary colors (Blue, Red, & Yellow) within the flame represent the varied impact of the HIV/AIDS-STD epidemic in Michigan that is similar to the color and heat associated with an actual flame. |
Blue, the most intense or hot portion of a flame, often invisible to the naked eye and closest to the flame source, represents the most impacted areas of Michigan. |
Red, the color of the middle portion of a flame represents the communities with an increasing impact of HIV/AIDS-STD infection in Michigan. |
Yellow, the color at the outer most and least intense portion of a flame represents those areas with a historically static impact of HIV/AIDS-STD infection in Michigan but at great vulnerability. |
The Rings: The rings are illustrated in one or more of the primary colors (blue, red, yellow) or white depending on the level of HIV/AIDS-STD impact represented in each of 8 prevention planning regions of the state and so suggests the focus of the project's efforts statewide. |
